We are doing “Sturgis” as part of Drill Weekends

This workout is dedicated to Sergeant Jason Sturgis, Barnstable Police Department, MA, who died unexpectedly, at the age of 42, on July 6, 2019. According to Barnstable police Sgt. Eric Drifmeyer, “Sgt. Sturgis touched many lives both here at the (department) and out in his community…He was greatly respected and will be sorely missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.”

The “Sturgis” memorial WOD was first posted by CrossFit Hyannis @crossfithyannis (Hyannis, MA, USA) on July 12, 2019. Owner and head coach Katie Falkowski had programmed the workout and “in this workout the 19 represents the 19 years Jason served on BPD and the 5, 11, and 13 represent the ages of the children he leaves behind” Katie notes that many members of CrossFit Hyannis knew Sgt. Sturgis, as he was a prominent officer in town.
