Paleo lifestyle challenge

Watchtower Crew!

The holidays are almost upon us, and with them, platters of Christmas cookies, turkey stuffing, pumpkin pie, and egg nog.  What better way to prepare for the holidays and learn a few good habits for staying healthy than to reset with 30 days of clean eating?  We will be running a 30-day paleo lifestyle challenge from October 24 – November 22, with the goal of not only resetting and getting healthy, but hopefully learning some positive habits that you can carry with you through the temptation of the holidays.  This challenge will be about more than just nutrition– we’ll practice paleo lifestyle habits as well!  Each week of the four week challenge, we will introduce a healthy habit that will help support your healthy eating.  Lena and the other CFWT coaches will be available for support and questions throughout the challenge.

A paleo diet is an eating plan based on foods humans might have eaten during the Paleolithic Era. The Paleolithic Era dates from around 2.5 million to 10,000 years ago.

A modern paleo diet includes fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, eggs, nuts and seeds. These are foods that in the past people could get by hunting and gathering, leaning more on protein. That’s why protein bars are perfect for this diet. It doesn’t include foods that became more common when small-scale farming began about 10,000 years ago. These foods include grains, legumes and dairy products.

Other names for a paleo diet include Paleolithic diet, Stone Age diet, hunter-gatherer diet and cave man diet.

Have no fear of this challenge if you have specific dietary needs you don’t feel “fit” the exact rules.  We’re here to help you be the healthiest and happiest you, you can be. And we’ll be here to help with these special dietary needs (not WANTS!).
